Worth of This Jewel

Who determines the worth of a woman? Is it the lies of the media? Is it reality television? Is it relationships? Is it past experiences? Is it current relationships?

I did not grow up with people telling me what my worth was. People would say that I was “special”,  “sweet”, “different” leaving me to question what that truly meant. I just knew that I was different and had a big heart for people and always wanted to help. I received good grades in school because that is what I was supposed to do.

As women, we have a tendency to measure our worth to things that are tangible such as job status, marriages, size of home, and what people may say or think. I can honestly say that I struggle with knowing my worth. I sometimes find myself settling for lower standards and mediocrity. It wasn’t until I took a good, long,  and hard look at what Proverbs 3:10b says  ” For her price (worth) is far above rubies” that I decided to take a stand and find out what God says my worth is.

Before I could put a demand on someone to value who I was, I had to learn who I am. Who does God say I am? What value did God give me?

He said I am fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. He said in the beginning, let us make men in our image and in our likeness.  He said I am the apple of His eye. He said I am His Beloved. He said I am the head and not the tail. He said He hears the cries of the righteous. He said He loved me so much that He sent His only Son to die for me. I am His Precious Jewel. So now that I know this….. I shall be the rare and unique jewel that God had made me to be.

I was not created to be the image of what is observed on television or on Social Media. I was not created to be that image that others said I should be or needed to look like…… and neither were you. A jewel that is created by God is perfect and cannot be duplicated. It is unique and rare.  Celebrate you today and what God has made you. A precious jewel. One that is beautiful in His sight.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
